Cherry, Maple, Walnut
My wife came home from a shopping trip to a local retailer who imports various products with a wooden tray made from unknown Asian wood whose dimensions she liked. I asked her why she didn’t ask me simply to make one for her. She returned the original tray and I made three, one for her and one each for my daughters using American hardwoods. The trays are fabricated using splined miter joints with contrasting wood splines. Subsequent to this I have made four similar trays for friends in walnut and cherry.
